What to listen to when you are bored?

RADIO COLIFATA is the first radio station broadcasting from a psychiatric Hospital which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2011.

Colifata is Lunfardo and means something like crazy-wonderful or also crazy inspired.

The program is conducted by patients, ex-patients, and visitors of the hospital José T. Borda every Saturday for five hours and broadcasted from the garden of the institution.

The program “Colifata” is a mixture of reflections on various topics starting from the daily life at the clinic to more philosophic discourses on insanity and normality and assorted music.

What started as a small project has become a very popular program which is regarded to be therapeutic for the patients participating and which has served as a model for several similar radio projects around the world.

The documentary “LT22 Radio La Colifata" by the Argentinean director Carlos Larrondo accompanies the life of the patients of the psychiatric hospital with the Soundtrack from Manu Chao – one of Colifatas most famous supporters.

The Colifata radio station has already developed into a phenomena which has helped to revise the social stigmatization of psychologically ill patients - especially in Argentina. Due to the enormous success and the millions of listeners around the world this project has in a way contributed to the re-integration of these patients into society and also helped to gain acceptance for mental illnesses in general.

Off-Sonar-Experiment

Sonar weekend Barcelona – The Off-Sonar - Experiment

...and again it’s time to go completely wild and celebrate music, love, summer, & life at the biggest electronic music festival in Europe.

Every year about 80.000 people from all over the world gather to celebrate some of the most popular international representatives of electronic music in Barcelona, Spain.

Apart from the Sonar there is a uncountable amount of parties, off-sonar-festivals and events celebrated at the same weekend with not less top-class artists making some the off-sonar events a serious alternative to the “real” festival.
An endless list of amazing artists playing at numerous selected venues (many events are already sold out) and a promising sunny 27°C weekend sounds like the best festival-weekend during this summer.
People who do not like the Sonar festival premises may be re-compensated by attending the uncountable alternative off-sonar events held at private mansions, amazing hotel terraces, public swimming pools, beach bars etc.

This year I am going to check out some of the hottest spots hoping to see amazing locations, listening to incredible music and meeting interesting people meanwhile.

I am ready are you?
